Spring dinners should feel easy. Nothing overdone, nothing forced. Good company, good drinks, and just a few thoughtful details that make everything better.
Start with the table, but don't overthink it. Linen table clothes, cloth napkins, nothing too perfect. It should feel a little lived in.
Glassware makes more of a difference than you think. Something slightly different, nothing that matches too much.
Flowers or plants. A few small vases feel better than a big arrangement. More natural, less structured.
Candles are a must. The more the better.
If it's outside, add a few small lamps. It adds to the ambiance of the the table.
Just don't overcomplicate it. Get a couple bottles of wine, keep the food simple. It's never about doing the most. The best dinners are always the ones that feel easy.
