The other day, Cate and I were grabbing coffee with our cousin, and I quickly threw on a mini dress, and headed out the door. As I was getting ready, I caught myself wondering if I was going to be too dressed up for coffee. Who wears a dress to grab a coffee?
Then I remembered the whole reason Cate and I started Row & Whit.
We built Row & Whit on the idea of making getting dressed feel normal again. Ever since COVID, we’ve lived in a world of activewear, loungewear, and ultra casual dressing. You don’t even need to dress up for the office anymore.
When we were living in London, one thing we noticed was that people simply wore clothes. Walking through the city, it was rare to see someone in workout attire unless they were actually headed to a workout. Getting dressed wasn’t reserved for a special occasion, it was just part of everyday life.
We wanted to bring a little bit of that mindset back to the States.
The challenge is that it almost feels like people don’t know where to start anymore. Athletic wear has become the default because it’s easy. But getting dressed shouldn’t have to feel complicated.
That’s why we’ve spent so much time creating and building our ideal capsule wardrobe. Timeless, versatile pieces that make getting dressed simple, effortless, and easy.
Because sometimes a mini dress for coffee isn’t overdressed.
It’s just getting dressed.
