Lately I've been thinking about how getting dressed can either feel really easy or way harder than it needs to be. And I keep coming back to the same thing. For a long time, I was trying. to dress like other people. Pieces would look so good on someon eelse, and I thought if I bought the same thing it would work the same way. It never really did.
Everything shifted when I started paying attention to what actually works on me. Not just what I like, but what I reached for without thinking. The pieces that feel natural. The ones I put on and don't question.
You start to notice patterns. Certain silhouettes you always go back to. Necklines that just feel right. Lengths that you feel your best in. And once you see it, you can't unsee it.
If you love your legs, you'll probably always feel best in something shorter. If something feels off every time you put it on, it probably is. It's less about rules and more about paying attention.
The pieces you wear on repeat tell y ou everything. Once you understand your fit, you really don't need that much. Just the right things. A good pair of jeans. A white tee that fits exactly how you want it to. A sweater you always grab. A blazer that pulls everything together. Simple hsoes you can wear with anything.
Nothing groundbreaking, but that's kind of the point. The best outfits are almost always the simplest ones. But yhey only feel effortless when the fit is right. A white tee and jeans can look complelty different depending on how it sits on you.
That's really the formula. Find what works on your body, and build around pieces you actually wear. And one thing I always come back to, you can love something, and it still might not be rigt for you. Once you figure out what does work, getting dressed just feels easier. More natural. Like yourself.
